Is Travis Hunter playing today vs Utah? Colorado's two-way star's status explored

Two-way star Travis Hunter has been one of the biggest reasons that the No. 18-ranked Colorado Buffaloes have been able to have a strong season. Hunter is the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy ahead of Week 12 because of his dominance as both a wide receiver and cornerback. However, injuries have been a concern for him as well.

Hunter had his playing time limited in a 31-28 loss against the No. 20-ranked Kansas State on Oct. 12, and in a 34-7 win over Arizona on Oct. 19. However, he has since recovered from his injuries and has been a full participant in each of the last two games. He is expected to be a full participant again against Utah (4-5) on Saturday.

Travis Hunter injury update

Hunter initially suffered a shoulder injury against Kansas State and aggravated the injury against Arizona. However, he was able to make a return to his full workload against Cincinnati and was again a full participant in a 41-27 win for Colorado (7-2) over Texas Tech on Saturday. There has been no indication that he aggravated the injury against the Red Raiders, so he will play against Utah on Saturday.

What happened to Travis Hunter?

Hunter suffered a shoulder injury in Colorado's loss to Kansas State on Oct. 12. He suffered the injury in the second quarter and went to the locker room several times to address the issue. The final time, he returned to the sideline in a shoulder brace and did not participate in the second half.

Before Colorado's game against Arizona, Hunter was listed as questionable, but ultimately, he returned for the Buffaloes. He helped the team get a win, but he aggravated his injury in the second quarter and missed the second half of the game again.

Hunter was listed as likely to play ahead of the game against Cincinnati and ended up being a full participant. He has since been taken off the injury report, so there is not indication that he will not be available against Utah.

Travis Hunter has not missed a game this season and has been back in his role as a full participant since the Cincinnati game. He appears fully healthy and back to his old self. There has been no talk from Hunter or the coaching staff that indicates that the injury is still having an impact on him.
