Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are on the road to play the Texas State Bobcats on Tuesday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on ESPN2.

Louisiana (6-1, 3-0 Sun Belt) is coming off its bye week and before that, beat Coastal Carolina 34-24. Texas State (4-3, 2-1 Sun Belt) is coming off its bye week and before that, lost 24-24 to Old Dominion.

Louisiana vs Texas State: Preview

Louisiana is a three-point underdog on the road against Texas State. The over/under is set at 58 points.

The Ragin' Cajuns have been solid to begin the season but Lousiana has a tough game here on the road against Texas State. Louisiana is coming off its bye week and before that, went on the road and beat Coastal Carolina in an impressive performance.

The Ragin' Cajuns were led by Ben Woolridge who threw for three touchdowns and also rushed in for another to get Lousiana bowl eligible. But, the bye week came at a good time as coach Michael Desormeaux said some players were dealing with some injuries.

“We had a bunch of guys who were playing through some stuff,” Desormeaux said, via The Advocate. “We’ve got some tough dudes on this team, so it’s going to help a lot of them. The message for them this week is they need to be active in their recovery...

“Our guys have to handle that well,” Desormeaux said. “They need to be active in their recovery, and they need to attack it with the same urgency that they do having practice.”

Louisiana is led by Woolridge, who's thrown for 1,785 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. Bill Davis has added 509 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Defensively, the Ragin' Cajuns are led by Tyree Skipper, who has three interceptions, and they have Cameron Whitfield with five sacks and K.C. Ossai with 59 tackles.

Texas State, meanwhile, is also coming off a bye week but entered the bye off a disappointing loss to Old Dominion. Quarterback Jordan McCloud threw two interceptions, as coach G.J. Kinne said the team didn't play well at all.

“We just didn’t play well or coach well enough to beat a good team at home on homecoming,” Kinne said, via University Star. “We just couldn’t ever gain the momentum and go get the job done...

“It hurts, and I’m sick about it, but all we can do now is go back to work,” Kinne said. “We have a good opponent at home in Louisiana [Lafayette], so we have to regroup and go to work.”

The Bobcats are led by its running game as Ismail Mahdi has rushed for 646 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Kalil Alexander has five sacks and Jordan Polk 43 tackles.

Louisiana has looked well and the Ragin' Cajuns should be able to go on the road and get a big win here to upset Texas State. The Bobcats offense will likely struggle again as Louisiana will improve to 7-1 in the UFC.
