The Hurricanes need to beat Syracuse to punch their ticket to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game and likely make the College Football Playoff.
"Well, I think just the college football landscape has helped us with that because every week you watch somebody right focusing on the big picture," coach Mario Cristobal said, via SI.
"I mean, it's hard to when was the last time you've seen so many top 25 teams just week by week by week succumb to whatever be media pressure, program expectations or whatnot. So it's almost like our process has been really good for so our guys believe it."
Miami is led by quarterback Cam Ward, who's thrown for 3,774 yards, 34 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Damien Martinez has rushed for 739 yards and eight touchdowns, and Xavier Restrepo has 979 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Syracuse, meanwhile, is on a two-game winning streak and can likely end Miami's playoff hopes with a win on Saturday.
Heading into the game, Syracuse coach Fran Brown said he's excited to watch the quarterback battle between Ward and Orange signal-caller Kyle McCord.
“They’re both intelligent... Both have good arms," Brown said, via DailyOrange. "They understand their identity and understand what’s going on. They can (identify) the (defensive) front. I just think that both teams are playing with a coach on the field. I’m excited about this one.”
Syracuse is led by McCord, who's thrown for 3,946 yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. LeQuint Allen has rushed for 819 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Oronde Gadsden II has 810 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
