Oklahoma was once seen as a strong contender for five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo, but that may be changing.

The Lake Ridge High School (Texas) has decided to cancel his scheduled official visit to the Sooners, which was set for June 20-22 during their ChampU BBQ event.

“Not needed," Ojo told On3. "Nearing my decision a lot sooner than later."

The 6-foot-7, 275 pounds holds an On3 NIL valuation of $758,000 and is ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

In February, Ojo revealed his top eight schools, five of which are from the SEC: Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Florida and Ole Miss. Brent Venables' program was set to be his final visit, meaning his official visits will now wrap up earlier than planned and commitment may come anytime.

Meanwhile, Michigan had Ojo and several other coveted targets on campus this weekend. The Wolverines are seen as serious contenders due to their strong reputation for developing top-tier offensive linemen.

"Michigan is one of those programs where the OL is the heart of the program and without them, the rest of the team wouldn’t function," Ojo told Rivals.

However, as a Texas native, speculation suggests that Ojo could eventually choose the Longhorns. On3 gives Texas the best odds of landing him at 89.9%, compared to Michigan’s 1.1%.

Michigan already has a commitment from four-star interior offensive lineman Bear McWhorter in the 2026 class. The Wolverines' this cycle is fresh off receiving commitment from four-star edge rusher McHale Blade on Monday and ranks No. 15 in the nation with eight committed players.

Oklahoma 2026 class recruitment update

Oklahoma has nine committed players in the 2026 class, ranking No. 33 in the nation. The Sooners have two interior offensive linemen committed in the 2026 class: Will Conroy and Noah Best.

Although they may miss out on Felix Ojo, the Sooners remain well-positioned to land four-star offensive tackle Deacon Schmitt. He's the No. 29 offensive tackle in the 2026 class and the No. 1 recruit in Colorado. He plays at tackle but is viewed by some as a potential interior lineman at the next level.
