The college football season is in full swing as the calendar turns to the final stretch of the year with Week 10 in the books. The ACC has been playing good football throughout the season. Over the first ten weeks, the conference has gone 87-60 overall and 43-16 in non-conference games.
Five ACC teams are ranked in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, however, just one of those teams are ranked in the top 12. The conference did not have any additional programs among the others receiving votes.
The No. 4 Miami (FL) Hurricanes lead the way as they are 9-0 and 5-0 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Florida State Seminoles continued their tough season, which has been one of the most disappointing years of any program in recent memory.
After entering the season as the conference's highest-ranked team in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll - ranked tenth in the nation - they fell to 1-8, including a 1-7 mark in ACC play.
Conference play remained in full force in Week 10 as 12 of the ACC's 17 teams faced a conference opponent. ACC College Football Playoff bubble watch ahead of Week 11
The No. 4 Miami (FL) Hurricanes have the best odds of any ACC program to reach the College Football Playoff. Miami has had a relatively easy schedule as they have not faced a ranked opponent.
Their path to the postseason is in their hands as they do not have a ranked opponent on their schedule over their final three games. The Hurricanes postseason odds are at -1200, the fifth-best in the nation.
The No. 13 ranked SMU Mustangs have the next best odds, +130, of reaching the College Football Playoff. That mark is the 13th-best in the nation. They are 8-1 overall, and 5-0 in ACC play.
SMU's lone loss came against the now-No. 9-ranked BYU Cougars in Week 2. They have beaten the then-No. 22-ranked Louisville Cardinals and then- No.18-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers and do not have a ranked opponent remaining on their schedule.
The No. 19 Clemson Tigers have the third-best odds of any ACC program of reaching the postseason. They will need some help to get in as their +250 odds are tied for the 17th-best nationally. The Panthers and Cardinals, with +2000 and +3000 odds, respectively, are the conference's only other team with better than +8000 postseason odds.
