Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have left all their critics and haters speechless this season. After a disappointing 4-8 campaign last year, the Buffs are now in the midst of contending for a conference championship in their Big 12 reunion campaign. After their week 12 victory over Utah, Coach Prime and his team are second in the Big 12 rankings with an 8-2 record.
The biggest goal for this team was to qualify for the bowl games this season as members of the Big 12. However, they have exceeded those expectations with their spectacular performance, which Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark is also thankful for.
While appearing on "The Pregame Show," Yormark talked about the success the Buffs are enjoying this season. He also said that their journey has helped the Big 12 to stay in the national spotlight amid their plans to expand in the future.

"It's unfolding just the way we said we would," Yormark said. "What Colorado is doing is fantastic. It's great for college football, it's great for our conference. And it's keeping us very relevant and it's obviously developing a great national narrative for us. So thrilled to be here today."
Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are one of the Pac-12 teams that joined the Big 12 in the recent conference alignment. The other teams playing as part of this conference this season are Utah, Arizona and Arizona State.
No one expected the Buffs to be one of the conference's top teams this season. However, Coach Prime made significant changes to his roster and coaching staff during the winter, bringing in more NFL expertise to lead the player. And it appears that the team's long-term strategy paid off.
After Deion Sanders and his team's Big 12 success, is Brett Yormark looking to bring in new teams to the conference?
Brett Yormark is looking to expand the conference in the future. Rumors suggest that the next team the Big 12 is looking at is the UNLV Rebels. They recently declined an offer to leave the Mountain West.
Apart from this, CFB insider Greg Swaim predicted that Yormark is aiming for a 24-team superconference, which is highly unlikely. Florida State and Clemson are two more teams that could potentially join the conference in the near future.
It will be interesting to see if any other story like Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes comes to fruition from the Big 12 conference.
