Ashton Jeanty put in another fine performance on Saturday when Boise State came up against Wyoming. The running back played a crucial role in helping the Broncos secure a valuable 17-13 win over the Cowboys, recording 169 rushing yards and one touchdown on 19 carries.

Following the Week 13 game, Ashton Jeanty’s girlfriend, Gabrielle Miller, launched a Heisman campaign for the running back. On her Instagram story on Saturday, she posted a graphic showing the stats of Jeanty against Wyoming, captioning it:

Till date, no player from the Broncos has ever won the Heisman Trophy and Jeanty would become the first one to attain this feat if he bags the award.

Ashton Jeanty’s Heisman Trophy odds

Following the conclusion of Week 13 action, Ashton Jeanty remains the second favorite for the Heisman Trophy. Going by the Sportsbooks’ odds, the running back sits behind Travis Hunter in the race for the college football's most coveted honor.

According to BetMGM, Jeanty is +750 to win the Heisman Trophy while Travis Hunter has a -1000 odds. Nonetheless, there's a lot that can change with one more regular season game and championship game to go.

Following the Wyoming game, Jeanty drew the praises of his coach Spencer Danielson, who had earlier contended he should be the Heisman winner. The Boise State coach commended the running back’s resilience all season.

“Ashton’s a warrior,” Spencer Danielson said, per ESPN. “I’m going to keep hitting that. He’s banged up. This is game 11, week 13 of the season, and he’s an absolute warrior playing through being banged up.

Ashton Jeanty reached the 2,000 rushing yards milestone

Ashton Jeanty surpassed the 2,000-rushing yard milestone on Saturday in the Week 13 game against Wyoming. This marked a new height in his college football career at Boise State after breaking the school’s single-season rushing record held by Jay Ajayi.

The Boise State running back is the first player to achieve this feat since 2019. A total of four running backs reached the mark that season. These include Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard, Navy’s Malcolm Perry, Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor.

Before the season began, Jeanty made a bold wager with his offensive line: if he failed to reach 2,000 rushing yards, he would cut off his dreadlocks. It was a daring bet, especially considering he recorded 1,437 yards in 2023—a strong total but well short of the double-millennium mark.
