Travis Hunter is the two-way Colorado Buffaloes star who has been no less than a blessing for Deion Sanders. His performance has helped the Buffs register two wins in three games, including their latest 28-9 victory over Colorado State.

Hunter has been vocal about his father, Travis Hunter Sr.'s journey, which inspired him to pursue football. However, when it comes to the NFL, there is a quarterback that the rising cornerback admires.

In an exclusive with DJ Siddiqi from Clutch Points, Hunter discussed the Colorado football program, coach Deion Sanders, and his personal favorites. His response brought up San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy into the conversation when asked which NFL quarterback he'd most like to intercept.

"Brock Purdy has always been a QB I admire, and it would be incredible to catch one of his passes or intercept one of his throws," said Hunter.

Travis's elite skills and Brock’s rising profile from "Mr. Irrelevant" to a starting NFL quarterback who led the Niners to an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII would make for a thrilling matchup when the Colorado athlete transitions to the NFL, possibly next year.

The buzz around Travis Hunter in 2024

Hunter is making the most of his CFB journey with his explosive plays and is favored for the Heisman Trophy. He also made NIL history after his performance against Colorado State.

On September 18, the WR signed a deal with NerdWallet, becoming the first college football player to partner with a personal finance brand. His NIL value now soars at $3.1M (as per On3).

Hunter's on-field display has constantly supported his growth in the CFB landscape. This season, the 21-year-old has already added 342 receiving yards and five touchdowns from 30 receptions.

He has been instrumental in the Buffs' wins against North Dakota State Bison in week 1 and Colorado State Rams in week 3.

Colorado is trying to make its place in the Big 12 under Coach Prime's leadership with talented players like Shedeur and Travis.

For someone who is already looking forward to having a blast in the NFL next year, Hunter’s growing presence is already providing much-needed firepower to the Buffaloes before their conference opener against the Baylor Bears.
