Michigan coach Sherrone Moore has confirmed that he is committed to the Wolverines program. This comes after it was revealed that he is leading the team without an official contract.

Moore appeared on Friday's edition of "The Pat McAfee Show" and spoke about his continuing commitment to Michigan.

"I’m committed to Michigan, they’re committed to me. I am getting paid and I am — I am under contract. So we’re in a good place."

Sherrone Moore had his first game as the official coach of the Wolverines in Week 1 against the Fresno State Bulldogs. The new-look Wolverines defeated the Bulldogs 30-10.

However, the biggest test of Moore's young head coaching career will happen this weekend when the Michigan Wolverines face the Texas Longhorns.

The Longhorns are one of the best teams in college football and on paper are likely to overpower a Wolverines team that lost most of their star players from the previous years in the recent offseason.

The news that Moore is playing without an official contract has only added to the atmosphere surrounding this big game.

Michigan's athletic director, Warde Manuel, has also responded to the reports that the coach of his football team is playing without an official contract. He told the media on Friday:

“They are being worked on as we speak. I’ve signed a couple of the assistant coaches (to contracts). We had not only a transition in football (but) we had a transition in basketball, we’re dealing with NCAA matters, we’re dealing with the situation with our apparel provider and bringing on Legends as shortly as Saturday. These things take time, the contracts.”

Sherrone Moore talks about the challenges that Texas will bring

Sherrone Moore also spoke to the media on Monday about his team's matchup against the Texas Longhorns, coached by Steve Sarkisian.

"We’re super excited for the challenge, we know we’ve got a really good football team coming in in all three phases. Coach Sark [Steve Sarkisian] has done a really good job with the program. On offense, they present challenges because the way he calls the game and what he does, his creativity, his rhythm.”

One of the biggest challenges that the Longhorns will bring is through the offense. This is led by quarterback Quinn Ewers, who is one of the best QBs in the country and a contender for the Heisman Trophy this year. He is joined by strong players like Jaydon Blue and Isaiah Bond.

If the Michigan defense can contain Texas' offense, they will have a good chance of winning what is expected to be a close game.
