On Thursday, four-star defensive end London Merritt announced his commitment to Colorado, days after decommitting from Ohio State. The IMG Academy edge will work closely with Buffs coach Deion Sanders next year, along with incoming quarterback Julian Lewis.

Lewis, who committed to Colorado earlier this month after decommitting from USC, had an eye-catching four-word reaction to the news that Merritt was joining him in Boulder.

"Yk how we get!" Lewis wrote on On3 reporter Hayes Fawcett's Instagram post that broke the news of Merritt's commitment to Colorado.

London Merritt explains why he chose to join Deion Sanders' Colorado

London Merritt's decision to snub Ohio State and join Colorado speaks volumes of the pull "Coach Prime" has with the CU program. The IMG Academy defensive end announced on "Nightcap" with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson that he was committing to Colorado.

“I feel like family at Colorado & they’re building something there that I want to be apart of. We are going to shock the world!” Merritt said on his reason for joining the Buffs.

Merritt is ranked as the No. 5 defensive end and No. 52 overall prospect in ESPN's 2025 class. He played at Woodward Academy in Georgia before transferring to IMG Academy for his senior season.

In the 2023 season, Merritt recorded 31 tackles, including four for loss, five sacks and 11 quarterback hurries. This year, the defensive end posted 23 total tackles and one sack in eight games played for the IMG Academy.

It will be interesting to see how London Merritt develops his game under Coach Prime at Colorado.

Sanders has worked wonders at No. 23 Colorado (8-3, 6-2 Big 12) this season. The Buffs have been one of the most improved teams in the country after finishing with a dismal 4-8 record last season.

Colorado will play its final regular season game against Oklahoma State on Friday. The Buffs also have a bowl game in store this season.
