College football analyst Josh Pate released his Big Ten quarterback preseason rankings on Thursday, placing Penn State's Drew Allar at the top of the list. He also listed Oregon's Dante Moore third, which drew some mixed reactions from fans on social media.
Some fans hinted that Moore might struggle at Oregon.

"Dante is gonna flop. Dude is unproven, is working with unproven receivers, has a rebuilt line, in a position of pressure and expectations…" one tweeted.
"How is Dante Moore ahead of Demond Williams?" another asked.
"This is a decent list, I’d probably just rank Dante a bit lower," a third commented.
A few others didn't appear to agree with Allar being No. 1 on Pate's list.
"Drew Allar at #1 is *wild*. I’ve only watched him against Michigan to be fair but he didn’t even look plausibly good," one wrote.
"If Allar is the best in the Big 10 that's sad," another added.
"Wow Allar…the ONLY reason PSU couldn’t beat Notre Dame? The worst QBs in the entire nation this year reside in the B10," a user tweeted.
Moore began his collegiate career at UCLA in 2023. He transferred to Oregon in 2024, where he served as the backup to Dillon Gabriel.
However, Moore is set to get the QB1 role for the Ducks in the 2025 season.
Drew Allar led Penn State to College Football Playoff semifinal last season

Allar led Penn State to the college football playoff semifinal last season. However, the Nittany Lions missed getting a spot in the national championship game after they fell to Marcus Freeman's Notre Dame.
Allar committed to Penn State in 2022, and got the QB1 role in 2023.
In the 2024 season, Allar recorded 3,327 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also rushed for six TDs, leading Penn State to a 13-3 record.
