Five-star safety Jett Washington is one of the top available prospects in the 2026 class and a major Oregon target. Dan Lanning's coaching staff is pushing to receive his commitment and has hosted him for an official visit.
During the trip, Washington met with several Ducks coaches, including Lanning, linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi and defensive coordinator Chris Hampton.
βThe overall visit was great and the feeling was special,β Washington told On3 following the trip. βGetting around the players, seeing more of the area and my talks and meetings with the staff were some of the highlights. Their message was that I am a priority and Oregon is a great fit for me.β

Washington had originally planned to visit Ohio State officially this week but changed plans in favor of Oregon. He also visited Eugene earlier this spring, and the Ducks remain firmly in the mix for his commitment.
βOregon is still high on my list and Iβm feeling pretty good about them," Washington said. "It is a great program and they are recruiting me as hard as anyone. Coach Hampton is a great coach, coach Lanning has the program going up and I liked it a lot.
"The coaches made me feel like I have been there 50+ times and that itβs a home for me,β Washington said. βIβve spent time with coach Tosh (Lupoi), coach Hampton and Lanning. Their message was that I am a priority and Oregon is great for me.β
Washington's visit to Oregon followed a midweek official visit to USC. He hasnβt set a commitment date, but a decision is expected sometime this summer. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he is the No. 27 overall prospect nationally, the No. 3 safety and the top player from Nevada.
Oregon also hosted former commit Richard Wesley this week
Oregon's 2026 recruiting class took a major hit in May when five-star edge rusher Richard Wesley decommitted from the program just 17 days after originally committing. Despite stepping back from his pledge, Wesley hasnβt ruled out Ducks and made a visit to the school over the weekend.
"The interactions were great," Wesley told 247 Sports following the trip. "They didn't change or switch up because of what happened, and treated me like I was one of their players. This also was one of the trips that a good majority of my family went out to, and they for sure loved it."
Wesley is the No. 43 recruit in the nation, No. 7 edge rusher in the 2026 class and No. 6 prospect from California, per On3. Besides Wesley, Oregon also hosted other five-star talents this week, including linebacker Tyler Atkinson and wide receiver/cornerback Brandon Arrington.
