Deion Sanders Jr., son of Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, has given his verdict on a controversial play during the Buffaloes' victory against the Texas Tech Red Raiders last weekend.
As a Texas Tech receiver made his way down into the endzone to score a touchdown, Shilo Sanders tackled him. Videos circulating online after the game show that the Texas Tech player did fumble the ball. Many fans reacted by saying that the referees robbed Shilo and the Buffaloes of success.
One fan posted a video of the incident on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption:

"...They robbed @ShiloSanders"
Deion Sanders Jr. also joined in, quoting the post with the caption:
"That was a fumble 100%."
This had an effect on Shilo Sanders and the Buffaloes in the short term, denying Sanders a fumble and giving the Red Raiders seven points. However, eventually, it had little impact on things in the long term.
During this game, the Buffaloes were the dominant side, cruising to a 41-27 win to give them their seventh win of the season. Shilo Sanders recorded six tackles (5 done on his own) and scored one touchdown from a late fumble from Texas Tech.
Deion Sanders responds to the "Ball Boy Incident"
The Shilo Sanders denied fumble was not the only thing that Deion Sanders Jr. reacted to that happened in the win against Texas Tech. During this game (and even before it), the Red Raiders fans were hostile towards the Buffaloes and especially star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
However, a moment where Sanders responded to this has gone viral. The moment in question occurred just after Shilo Sanders scored a touchdown from a fumble late in the game.
While Shilo was celebrating, a ball boy from Texas Tech took the ball from Shilo's hands (as they were allowed to do in this situation). Shedeur Sanders did not like this and appeared to confront the ball boy after. He was joined by Deion Sanders Jr., who appeared to say something to the boy.
In response to this, Deion Jr. later posted on social media the following:
"The Fun Is In The Winning."
In the end, the hostile crowd and high expectations had no effect on the performance of Shedeur Sanders. He threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns, as well as rushing for 16 yards from nine attempts, scoring one touchdown.
Sanders will be hoping for a less hostile atmosphere this week when the Buffaloes host rivals the Utah Utes.
