Under the leadership of "Coach Prime" Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes have achieved a milestone by selling out season tickets for the second consecutive year, marking only the 10th time in the program's history.

This success follows a 27-year gap, reflecting the significant impact of Deion Sanders since his arrival in Boulder last year. Athletic Director Rick George highlighted the achievement.

"Selling out of season tickets for the second year in a row shows how strong our fan base is and the continued impact of and trust in Coach Prime," George told Cubuffs.

The previous era of consistent sellouts spanned from 1990-96 during Bill McCartney's tenure, often regarded as the golden age of the program. During this period, the Buffaloes secured a national championship in 1990, three conference championships and maintained a presence in the AP poll for 143 consecutive weeks.

The teams from this era combined for an impressive 68-13-4 record, with four of the seven seasons ending in the top five of the final AP poll. The only other sellout season was in 1972, following a strong 1971 season where the team finished No. 3 nationally after defeating LSU and Ohio State in the preseason.

The 2024 season promises to be historic as Deion Sanders' Buffaloes return to the Big 12 for the first time in 14 years. The home schedule is set to be exciting, beginning with a game against FCS powerhouse North Dakota State on Aug. 29.

Key games to look forward to are Baylor's first trip to Boulder in 14 years on Sept. 21, which will also be CU's Homecoming game.

On Oct. 12, Kansas State will be the visiting team. Oct. 26 will feature a game against the Bearcats. The season will close with Utah on Nov. 16 and Oklahoma State on Black Friday, Nov. 29.

Deion Sanders era spurs high demand for Colorado Buffaloes tickets

The ticket renewal rate for the Colorado Buffaloes program surpassed 98% this year. The rate reached those numbers by the time the Buffaloes announced the ticket sale on Tuesday, May 21. The general public can scan and get tickets, and the ticket holders can get them by availing of the presale offer before the public.

For those looking ahead, fans interested in securing season tickets for the 2025 football season can join a waitlist on CUBuffs.com. Any available season tickets after the 2024 season will be allocated based on priority points.

Student fans also have important dates to note. The Student Sports Pass for the 2024-25 season will go on sale on July 10 at 10 a.m. ET. There will be additional inventory held for new freshmen and students, available for purchase in August.

The process for claiming football tickets will mirror the system used for basketball in previous seasons. Last year, CU expanded student seating by one section, adding approximately 1,500 new seats, bringing the total to just under 12,000.

As Rick George emphasized, the anticipation for an exhilarating 2024 season remains high, with expectations of a full house for every game under second-year coach Deion Sanders.
