Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders showcased why he is considered a top draft pick in Week 8. He put up a commendable performance as "Coach Prime" and the Buffs dominated the Arizona Wildcats 34-7 in their Big 12 showdown. With this victory, Colorado now has a better season in seven games than last year's 4-8 campaign.
The dominating performance also earned the praise of college football analyst Skip Bayless. After the game ended, Bayless took to X/Twitter to talk about the Buffs' performance in Week 8:

"Shedeur Sanders played very well today. He's still the best quarterback in all of college football. Should go first overall in the draft," Bayless said. "But guess what ladies and gentlemen, Colorado as a football team played even better than its quarterback did today.
"I believe the Buffaloes, after they trounced Arizona at Arizona will win out, will be right in the middle of the Big 12 race. Would have won the Big 12 outright if they handn't gotten hosed on that late non-pass interference call last week at home late against Kansas State. Deion Sanders is doing a Coach of the Year sort of job with this team. Don't sleep on Buffaloes!," he added.
Colorado took an early lead when Isaiah Augustave scored a one-yard touchdown. Shedeur Sanders then found Drelon Miller with a one-yard TD pass, extending their lead to 14-0. Arizona QB Noah Fifita then replied with a one-yard TD pass of his own to bring the deficit down to seven points (14-7).
However, the Buffs would go on a scoring spree in the next three-quarters of the game. Sanders found two more touchdowns while Alejandro Mata put the finishing touches with two field goals in the third and fourth quarters. The Colorado QB finished the night with 250 passing yards and two TD passes along with one rushing TD to his name.
Shedeur Sanders shows compassion for injured teammate Sam Hart
During the first half, tight end Sam Hart had to move to the sidelines after an apparent leg injury. Hart began his collegiate career with Ohio State back in 2021. After three seasons, he decided to join the Buffaloes as a graduate transfer ahead of the 2024 season.
When Hart was seen limping on the field, Sanders extended a helping hand to his fellow teammate. A clip on social media has since gone viral where the QB can be seen escorting Hart off the field.
The Buffs still have a chance to be a potential contender for the conference title and a playoff berth this season. It will be interesting to see if they can exceed expectations and be an underdog contender for the national championship.
Sanders and Co. are back in action when they host the Cincinnati Bearcats next Saturday.
