Florida Atlantic vs. East Carolina: Game Summary
The first half was all ECU, and it started from the jump. The Pirates opened the game with a 50-yard touchdown from Chase Sowell, taking a 7-0 lead.
East Carolina followed that series up with back-to-back forced punts and back-to-back touchdown drives from its offense, taking a 21-0 lead into the second quarter.
After a missed field goal from the Pirates, Florida Atlantic capitalized with a 12-play, 66-yard touchdown drive to cut ECU's lead to 21-7 with six minutes left in the first half.

After an exchange of punts, the Pirates found their stride once again, with an explosive three-play touchdown drive to extend their lead to 28-7 with under two minutes left in the first half.
East Carolina forced another punt before the half and capitalized with a 35-yard touchdown scamper from Katin Houser, giving the Pirates a 35-7 lead going into the locker rooms.
The Pirates continued their dominance in a relatively uneventful second half, scoring a touchdown in the third quarter and fourth quarter.
East Carolina forced two Florida Atlantic interceptions to clinch a blowout win over the Owls. Florida Atlantic punched in a garbage-time touchdown to cut the lead to 49-14 as time ran out.
