The Florida State Seminoles lost their week 6 contest at home to the Clemson Tigers. This is their second consecutive defeat, putting them at a 1-5 record so far this season. However, fans got a trip down memory lane thanks to a fan who became a meme sensation for the Seminoles years ago.

Back in 2018, under then-head coach Will Taggart, the Seminoles had a difficult season. During that campaign, a fan who sat in the stands shirtless while reading a book instantly went viral. Now, six years later, this fan made a comeback during the Clemson vs Florida State showdown.

A tweet went viral on X showcasing the same shirtless man at the Doak Campbell Stadium. He was seen reading a book in the empty stands as the Seminoles struggled on the gridiron to keep up with their ACC rivals.

The game's play-by-play commentator Mark Jones was the first one to realize that the viral fan made a comeback. On the broadcast, he talked about how he met the fan before the game during his run and how he would be present for the week 6 showdown.

"This is the Florida State book guy," Jones said. "He's back. I'm going to say this- I met him today when I was on my run to Apalachee Parkway. I would love to know what book he's reading though. He said he was going to be at the game tonight, he promised. May not like this scoreboard right now."

With the Seminoles' starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei missing out on the game after undergoing surgery for his injury, backup Brock Glenn was put to the test.

He managed to put up 228 passing yards and two TD passes for his team, but it did not prove enough to emerge victorious against Clemson.

Florida State HC Mike Norvell disappointed with loss against Clemson

In the post-game press conference, Mike Norvell opened up about how he was not happy with the result of the week 6 showdown. He began by praising Dabo Swinney and his team for the victory and their performance on the field.

He stated that despite his players giving their best, the result did not bear fruit for the team. Norvell also dissected the mistakes Florida State made on the field.

"First off, thought it was a hard-fought game. Credit to Clemson. They did a good job making the plays when necessary and throughout the course of the game I thought," Norvell said. "Just disappointed in the result.

"Disappointed for our guys. I thought that they played hard. I thought they did fight. We had our opportunities, but you know, it's absolute minimum expectation here, and we have to go and make- we've got to get the job done."

Florida State is next scheduled to face the Duke Blue Devils after an open week 6. If Norvell wants to turn the fortunes of this program and perform like they did last season, then he will have to go back to the drawing room and build a new strategy for the remainder of the season.
