Four-star cornerback Caden Harris has flipped his commitment from Vanderbilt to Georgia's 2026 class. The Haywood High School standout from Tennessee had initially pledged to the Commodores on April 29.

Despite maintaining strong ties with the Commodores’ coaching staff and taking an official visit to Nashville from May 30 to June 2, Harris' move to Georgia came after visiting Athens from June 6 to 8.

The switch is a huge loss for Vanderbilt, as Harris was their only consensus four-star recruit. He becomes the first player to decommit from their 2026 class. They are now left with 12 committed players in the cycle, ranking No. 45 in the nation per On3.

Fans reacted to Harris' decision to snub Vanderbilt in favor of Georgia.

"GA is good at stealing players," one wrote.
"Man.. I wish it was still the early 2000s when commitments ment something. SMH.. I just don’t understand why not pick them in a first," a fan remarked.
"So he wasn't actually committed then," a netizen wrote.

Meanwhile, Harris becomes the No. 17 commitment in Georgia’s 2026 class, ranking No. 4 in the nation. The Bulldogs fans happily welcomed him.

"Kirby gets whoever he wants no surprise," one wrote.

The Bulldogs' 2026 class is headlined by five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, and Harris joins four-star Justice Fitzpatrick in their cornerback room of the cycle.

“Just came down to where my heart was truly at and how I felt after talking about praying about it,” Harris told DawgNation.

Georgia defensive backs coach Donte Williams played a key role in pursuing Harris in Athens.

"I like how detailed he is, the way he breaks things down to the smallest aspect for you to understand and correct is very catching," Harris told On3. "I think it would be great to play for him. All the great products he's produced and the knowledge he holds would put me in a great position to meet my goals."

Harris is ready to make the seven-hour move to Athens and join Kirby Smart’s program. Georgia has discussed using him at both cornerback and the hybrid “STAR” position.
