Carson Beck's sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will close out the year against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday. The game might end up being key to the Bulldogs' prospects as a playoff team this season, as they're ranked No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
Yellow Jackets coach Brent Key knows Beck is the key to the Georgia offense and seems to have the best of opinions regarding the signal-caller. Georgia Tech beat writer Chad Bishop the following quote by Key ahead of the game:
"He has a unique talent, a unique skill set. He gets all the credit for the way he throws the ball and the passing offense, but this is a kid I remember coming to camp when he was in high school, he’s a 4.6 kid. He can run. He can get out of trouble."
Carson Beck has recorded 3,132 passing yards, with 23 touchdowns and 12 interceptions through 11 games. He has an 81.2 QBR, which ranks ninth among quarterbacks in the country.

Key also spoke about the Georgia Bulldogs (9-2) in general, recognizing their strength as a team:
“They pride themselves on being a physical team, on winning the line of scrimmage. And they don’t just say it. They back it up. They backed it up not just recently, they’ve backed it up for a long period of time, so it’ll be a big challenge for us.”
About Georgia Tech (7-4), he said:
"Confidence comes from belief. Confidence comes from believing, not necessarily having done. But the games these guys have played in, the way these guys have won this year, I think it creates a belief that leads to the confidence."
The Yellow Jackets (7-4) have some big wins over ranked schools like then-No. 10 Florida State in Week 0 (not impressive now) and then-No. 4 Miami.
The game between Georgia and Georgia Tech will air on ABC at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
