The race for the Heisman Trophy this season has become a close contest between Colorado wide receiver Travis Hunter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Both these players have had incredible campaigns while making a case for themselves.

On Tuesday's episode of his eponymous podcast, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders dropped a remark in favor of both players:

"I've seen his (Ashton Jeanty's) highlights, and he's been going crazy. I think he should win the running back award (Doak Walker Award), whatever the best. ... I think he should win that award. I think Trav should win the Heisman. I just feel like everybody should be winners at the end of the day. Nobody's taking away from anybody." (6:30).

Travis Hunter has been efficient for the Buffs on both sides of the ball this season. He has totaled 1,036 yards and 11 touchdowns receiving while recording 30 total tackles, three interceptions and one forced fumble. Apart from the Heisman, Hunter is the finalist for the Maxwell Award, the Biletnikoff Award, the Walter Camp Award, the Bednarik Award and the Paul Hornung Award.

On the other hand, Ashton Jeanty's performance for the Broncos cannot be overlooked. He has tallied 2,062 yards and 27 touchdowns in 11 games and is a finalist for the Heisman, the Doak Walker Award, the Walter Camp Award and the Maxwell Award.

Jeanty also broke the school's single-season rushing record, set by Jay Ayi in 2014, and is on pace to break Barry Sanders' NCAA single-season rushing record of 2,628 yards set in 1988.

Dallas LB Micah Parsons gives his vote of confidence to Ashton Jeanty in Heisman race

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has publicly announced who he supports in this season's Heisman race. In a tweet on Monday, Parsons shared a statistic about the number of RBs in College Football who have crossed the 2,000-yard rushing mark and used it in his argument:

"We shouldn't event be discussing the heisman !!! Ashton Jeanty is the heisman winner!!"

The Boise State Broncos are scheduled to take on Oregon State in their final regular season game on Friday before competing for the Mountain West title on Dec. 6.

Colorado will play their Week 14 matchup against Oklahoma State on Friday as well, competing for a win but also hoping for the right draw of luck. The Buffs are tied with three other teams in their conference at 6-2, and to make the Big 12 Championship, they need at least two of those teams to lose in Week 14.
