The Colorado Buffaloes failed to make the Big 12 Conference Championship Game and are waiting until Sunday to see if they are selected for the College Football Playoff. Either way, they have had a successful season in Year 2 of the Deion Sanders era.
The Colorado Buffaloes have been full of stars on both sides of the football and among them is the son of a former NBA journeyman.
Freshman cornerback Nahmier Robinson, son of Nate Robinson, posted a picture of himself, in his Colorado uniform, on social media and thanked Coach Prime for helping him develop. Deion Sanders responded with a classy remark of his own.
"Love ya man and I Believe you're gonna soar. God bless u"
Nahmier Robinson has not been on the field too much this season as he has only appeared in one game. The only time he recorded any action was more than two months ago, in the game against the Colorado State Rams, in which he registered a pass deflection.
With some players at the position, including Travis Hunter, not likely to be returning next season, it will be interesting to see how high Nahmier Robinson can continue to climb on the depth chart.
Can the Colorado Buffaloes still make the College Football Playoff?
The Colorado Buffaloes have not made the Big 12 Championship Game, as the Arizona State Sun Devils and Iowa State Cyclones will compete for the crown. With that being the case, there is a great likelihood that Deion Sanders and the Buffs are going to miss the College Football Playoff this season.
There are a few factors that are going to determine how things look, but diving into the latest College Football Playoff rankings, the Colorado Buffaloes were 25th in the country.
That means they would need to jump 13 other programs to make the CFP. However, they are not going to have the meteoric rise with their 52-0 home win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys and not making a conference championship game.
It is not a lost season but also not where the team was hoping to wind up. They will still compete in a bowl game that is going to be announced later this week.
