Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes failed to extend their four-game winning streak in Week 13. Despite their best efforts, the Buffs succumbed to a 37-21 loss at the hands of the Kansas Jayhawks, putting a dent in their hopes of competing for the Big 12 championship.

Despite the loss, Shedeur Sanders performed well, tallying a total of 266 yards and three touchdowns passing while completing 23 of his 29 passing attempts. However, the quarterback almost took a career-ending hit in the first quarter, which left many fans fuming.

In the post-game press conference, Shedeur was questioned about that tackle. He responded by stating how he was confused that a penalty wasn't called by the referees. He questioned the legality of the play but in the end accepted the outcome of the game.

"I just don't know how that's legal," Shedeur said. "Overall like, I understand that but, you know it is what it is. There's a couple of plays like that."

Jayhawks DE Dean Miller dove into Shedeur Sanders' knees when he was attempting a pass. This launched the quarterback into the air before he came crashing onto the ground.

The Kansas Jayhawks took an early 10-point lead at home against the Colorado Buffaloes. Shedeur Sanders then found Travis Hunter with a 51-yard TD pass to finally put his team on the scoreboard. However, the Jayhawks continued to put offensive pressure as Tabor Allen scored two field goals to make the score 23-14 at the end of the first half.

There was a moment of hope for Colorado to make a comeback when Shedeur once again found Hunter with a TD pass to close the deficit by two points. Unfortunately, Kansas RB Devin Neal scored two more touchdowns in the second half, turning the game in favor of his team and ultimately securing the victory.

Shedeur Sanders reacts to Coach Prime's post-game comments

After the loss, head coach Deion Sanders said that the reason why they lost was because they were basking in the success that they achieved this season. This made them careless against the Jayhawks on the field in Week 13.

"We started smelling ourselves a little bit... We got intoxicated with the success. We got intoxicated with the multitude of articles and the assumptions that we're this and the assumptions that we're that... Therefore, we got our b***s kicked," Deion said.

Shedeur Sanders responded to these comments in his post-game press conference. The Colorado QB admitted to being 'over-confident' and took collective responsibility for the loss against Kansas.

"Personally, I am an overconfident person myself," Shedeur said. "So I can't spot that on anybody else and say that they are overconfident. I'm not sure. We did all our job preparing and doing that so whatever people doing on their personal side, mentally you won't be able to know." (2:20 onwards)

Shedeur Sanders and the Buffs are scheduled to finish their regular season with a game against Oklahoma State next week. It will be interesting to see if they can still be hopeful of competing for the Big 12 title this season.
