Michigan pulled out all the stops as it hosted one of its top targets in the 2026 class, five-star running back Savion Hiter from Louisa County High School in Virginia. Already a familiar face in Ann Arbor, Hiter returned for his official visit this weekend.

The Wolverines gave Hiter the full recruiting experience, including a high-end photoshoot with 2025’s No. 1 overall recruit, five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, who posed in a stylized handoff.

Hiter shared the photos and a video on X alongside the caption:

“Thank you @UMichFootball for having my family and I this weekend 🙏🏾 it was an aMaizing official visit #GoBlue”

Some fans saw it as a chance to make jokes about Underwood's image of handing the ball to Hiter, comparing it to him handing off the problems possibly tied to Michigan’s NCAA hearing about the sign-stealing scandal.

“Is Bryce handing you the sanctions?” a fan said.
“Playing under sanctions not the move,” another fan said.

“Football has been his life for a long time,” Hiter’s father Rod said, via On3 on Friday. “He traveled around with the youth league. We played against (Top 100 athlete) CJ Sadler and all those guys. We played in all-star games and a lot of different cities.”

It didn’t take long for Hiter to realize football could be more than just a hobby.

“My family were big Redskins fans, so I just grew up watching and wanting to play,” Savion said, via On3 on Friday. “When I got to 11U, I switched travel teams and played better competition. I was smoking them, too (laughs).”

And he never looked back.

Ahead of his college decision, Savion Hiter has narrowed his choices down to four programs: Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and Tennessee.
