EA Sports College Football 25 was down for maintenance on August 1. EA Sports College Football 25 has regular maintenance to fix any bugs and help improve the game.

The CFBDirect X account announced that starting at 6 am ET on Thursday, Team Builder and all online modes will be unavailable to play until the completion of maintenance.

"Hey #CFB25 fans, server maintenance will begin tomorrow, Thursday August 1st at 6 AM ET. During this time, all online modes and Team Builder will be unavailable. Please be sure to complete all online games before maintenance begins! We will provide an update when maintenance is complete."

The maintenance ended at 9:00 am ET and the online modes have been reinstated (as per the latest update).

EA College Football 25 has 5 million players in its first week

EA Sports College Football 25 was a highly-anticipated game and it showed. Five million unique players played the video game in the first week of release according to EA's financial report (per Sports Illustrated).

The game has also caught the attention of the players, as some of them have said that's all they do in their free time.

"That's really all we do now in our free time, we play the game," Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, the highest-rated player in the game, told ESPN.

"When I leave here today, that's my only goal: To get back home and play," LSU star linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. said at SEC media days (per ESPN).

Arizona State Sun Devils head coach Kenny Dillingham, meanwhile, knows that his players are frequently playing the game. However, he says he would rather this over them going out late at night and getting into trouble.

"A lot of people say video games are bad; I actually kind of disagree," Dillingham said (per ESPN). "I want our guys to do anything that's competitive. If it's going out on Saturday night to a nightclub or going out to a party, or if it's having four or five guys over and hanging out and playing [College Football 25] all night, give me the latter 10 times out of 10."

"They're competing, they're building chemistry, they're hanging out together. So I really try to embrace what guys like to do with each other."

EA College Football 25 was released on July 19 and has received mostly positive reviews.
