During his press conference on Monday, Kalen DeBoer provided an update on Kadyn Proctor's condition, addressing concerns about his availability moving forward. He gave some hope that the left tackle could be available against Wisconsin.

"[Proctor] will continue to work on his functional movement and all that kind of stuff early in the week and keep the progression in a way where I feel we'll be pretty dang close by the weekend of getting him more on the football field,” DeBoer said (per Sports Illustrated).

“He's coming along really well, especially at the end of last week, working extremely hard to get back out there.”

Proctor was anticipated to feature in the game against South Florida on Saturday. However, the sophomore did not feature in the 42-16 win in Tuscaloosa.

What happened to Kadyn Proctor

Ahead of Alabama's season opener against Western Kentucky, Kadyn Proctor was seen heading to the locker room during pregame warmups. The highly touted left tackle later returned to the sideline not suited up for the Week 1 game, with his left arm or shoulder in a sling.

Although Proctor suited up for warmups this past Saturday, he did not take first-team reps. When the team took the field, Proctor was once again in street clothes. Kalen DeBoer had made it known during the week that he is listed day-to-day for the South Florida game.

“It’s one that we will be able to manage, so that’s a positive,” DeBoer said (per On3). “As the week goes on, it will be something we can continue to evaluate and be hopeful for.”

When will Kadyn Proctor return?

After missing the Week 2 game against South Florida, there are a lot of expectations that Proctor will be back in action for Alabama in Week 3. While there's no certainty on his availability yet, Kalen DeBoer gave a positive update on his status on Monday, providing some confidence.

Proctor was a starter his freshman year at Alabama last season. He played a prominent role in the team's SEC title run and College Football Playoff appearance, as Nick Saban rounded up his time in Tuscaloosa. He expected to regain the starting role when he eventually returns.
