The Colorado Buffaloes announced their plans to share revenue with all their student-athletes. This is in response to the United States House of Representatives' decision on Friday.
"The House settlement has passed, marking a new era of college athletics. Beginning July 1, the University of Colorado will participate in revenue sharing with all of our student-athletes up to the prescribed cap utilizing Athletic Department funds," the Buffaloes tweeted on Saturday.

Fans shared their reactions to it on X.
"Congratulations! This is great news for ALL student athletes!" a fan said.
"Wow this is legendary," another fan said.
Others responded to the announcement negatively.
"NIL stinks. Keep the Olympic sports and trash the others. No long fun college sports with kids who actually are there to play instead of collecting a paycheck," one fan wrote.
"It’s an unfortunate shift in college athletics which will change the competition landscape profoundly," another fan commented.
"In the revenue sports are you Gonna give their “scholar”ships to real students now?" one fan wrote.
What does the ruling mean for school like Colorado?
This decision is huge for college sports, and will officially change the landscape of college athletics. The amateur model that the NCAA held onto for much of its existence will be transformed.
Colleges can pay its athletes directly, but not compulsory.
From July 1, colleges can spend up to $20.5 million in payments to student-athletes. This figure comes from an agreement involving the schools, with around 22% of it from a top FBS program's ticket sales and television revenue. It is expected to grow, with some projecting it to reach $30 million in the next five years.
The ruling does not require a certain amount of money to be spent on each athletic program. However, as football and basketball are the biggest revenue makers, most of the money will be spent on these sports' athletes.
This, alongside NIL, will likely become the two main reasons why players sign with certain programs.
