“Looked like a hand me down”: Alabama fan rips Kalen DeBoer’s outfit choice in loss against Vanderbilt

Last week, the Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a shock loss to Vanderbilt Commodores. Alabama fans were not happy with the team's performance and took to social media to express their opinions. Most of the comments focused on the on-field performance of the Crimson Tide, but one fan decided to focus on something different.

This fan appeared on the "Locked on Bama" podcast and criticized the outfit that Kalen DeBoer was wearing during the game, saying:

"What person on this planet told Kalen DeBoer "do you know what would be a good looking shirt? That one you've got on... It looked like it was a hand me down from Mike Brice. It's one thing to have your team unprepared. Can you at least put on a shirt that says, "Hey, I've got an idea what's going on?""

The sentiment shown by this fan resonated with others on social media.

"I agree fs at least wear a polo😂" one fan said.

"Bring back the suit and ties!" another fan said.

"They actually do have somewhat of a point. He’s dressing more casual than an accountant on an average day at the office. The guys makes $10m a year. Even if you are a football coach, you should take your appearance more seriously. The rest of us in the workforce do," a fan said.

However, these fans don't care about what DeBoer wears.

"This is ridiculous. Forget about a shirt. Play better on the lines on both sides of the ball," one fan said.

"Right yeah his t shirt was the reason bama gave up 40 to vandy 😂" said another fan.

"Idgaf if he wears a onesie as long as he wins," a fan said.

What is the outfit that Alabama fans roasted?

The outfit in question that DeBoer was wearing was a simple Alabama-branded t-shirt, which stands in contrast to the polo shirts typically worn by Nick Saban.

Most fans saw this outfit as "unprofessional" and one that should not be associated with a top program like the Alabama Crimson Tide.

However, it seems DeBoer may have heard the negative feedback, as he appeared in a polo shirt during Monday's press conference. While this could be a one-time "smart" choice for the event, it might also indicate a shift in how he presents himself when representing the team.

We'll see if DeBoer maintains this new look when the Crimson Tide faces the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.
