How did college football fans react to the updated Coaches Poll?
College football fans shared their reactions to the latest rendition of the USA Today Coaches Poll.
@SmithDog2244 isn't impressed with the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines following their 31-12 Week 2 loss to the visiting Texas Longhorns:
"Michigan over rated."
@SouthFloridaUM blasted the Oregon Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions:
"Oregon is a fraud Penn State is a fraud"
@BeermanSTL believes the two teams should switch places in the rankings:
"At the very least switch Oregon and Miami. One has looked like the 6th best team in the country, and the other has struggled mightily during cupcake season."
@JonathanBCoker shared plenty of changes that he believes should be made to the Coaches Poll:
"A lot of things needs re-adjusting. For example: Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan needs to slide down. USC, Miami needs to move up. Washington not sure needs to be there yet. And I may actually have Syracuse at 25 over Memphis."
@MamaisTony is not a fan of the poll:
"1st, Coaches Poll needs to go. 2nd, preseason polls are never accurate and create a narrative that is hard to dispel through the season. Maybe hold off on polls until week 4. It won’t happen because it’s media/tv network $$ that would be lost if we used common sense."
While there will always be complaints about the Coaches Poll, it is important to note that the poll has no bearing on the College Football Playoff. The 12 teams that reach the postseason will be determined by the CFP selection committee, which will release its first rankings on Nov. 5.
