The CFP committee has a very important task at the end of this weekend. After all the conference championship games come to an end, they will be responsible for the task of finalizing the bracket for the first year of the new 12-team College Football Playoff and deciding on which teams will make it.With college football fans excited to watch who takes home the championship in their respective conference, the CFP committee also got together to watch these important games unfold. On social media, a video went viral of the committee's get-together for championship weekend.In the video, we see various members of the CFP committee lounging back on their chairs and watching the Big 12 championship game unfold on television. Despite the high-octane showdowns, there was not a lot of visible excitement to watch the action unfold in the video.Fans took to social media to troll and ridicule the CFP Committee's championship weekend get-together. One fan joked that he enjoyed Tupperware parties better than this."My mom's Tupperware parties, when I was a kid, were livelier than this."Another fan wrote that he had given up on his dream of being a part of the CFP Committee after watching the lifeless video." I always wanted this job until I watched this, I thought it'd be sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings and it would be a party."This fan made fun of the setup that the committee had to watch the championship games."Weak setup. Yeah they are watching but they have no clue what they are watching or how any of it works."When will the teams for the 12-team playoff be announced by the CFP committee?The selection for the teams that will participate in the first year of the 12-team playoffs is scheduled for Sunday, December 8. It will take place from 12 to 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.In this new 12-team playoff format, the five highest conference champions selected by the committee will receive an automatic bid. The remaining seven teams will be the next seven highest-ranked teams that will compete in the first round of the playoffs. The teams ranked 1-4 will receive automatic qualification into the quarterfinals.The national championship game for the 2024 season is scheduled to be played on January 20. As fans wait with bated breath to see the final bracket for the playoffs, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the national champion this season.
