"Old school new school": CFB fans react to former Alabama HC Nick Saban and current HC Kalen DeBoer's starkly different offices 

After Nick Saban's sudden retirement earlier this year, the Alabama Crimson Tide will begin a new era under coach Kalen DeBoer. During his 17-season stint, Coach Saban successfully shaped the Crimson Tide into one of college football's powerhouses, leading them to six national championships. Now it is up to DeBoer to carry forward that legacy of success in Tuscaloosa.

Amid the anticipation behind Kalen DeBoer's debut Alabama campaign, fans are now also comparing the change in Nick Saban's former office space. A recent photo on Instagram showcased the difference between the design of DeBoer's current office and Saban's previous office.

In the photo, Coach Saban's office had a classy, antique feel to it. On the other hand, Coach DeBoer's looks modern with state-of-the-art touches to match his taste. This led to fans also sharing their opinions on the differences between the two offices, and in turn the two coaches.

One fan observed and commented:

"Old school new school."

Another fan highlighted how the previous office gave a homely vibe, whereas they believe the new one fails to deliver that:

"Sabans makes potential players feel like they are home. DeBoers office is nice but cold like the new McDonald's compared to the old style lol."

This fan felt that Saban's office style had a personality to it:

"Old Alabama setup makes a statement."

Another fan said both office styles fit each head coach perfectly:

"The design of the office honestly fit the coaches. I like them both."

While one fan declared Kalen DeBoer's office as the clear winner:

"Love Nick, but I like DeBoers setup much better. Bright and open."

Another fan had a diplomatic answer:

"That's cool. Different people, different styles."

Kalen DeBoer speaks up on pressure of being Nick Saban's successor in Alabama

Earlier this month, DeBoer made an appearance on the "Gojo and Golic" podcast. He opened up about the pressure of carrying forward the successful run of the Crimson Tide in the post-Saban era:

"I hear it, I feel it. You know it. I knew that coming in, knew that was an expectation. That's the reason why I came here. To want to be a part of something like that," DeBoer said.

"It's fun to see the turnarounds. I've been a part of that too, and growing culture and what it looks like from maybe not a good culture to one that's a championship calibre-culture," he added.

Last season, Kalen DeBoer was successful in leading the Washington Huskies to the national finals as the undefeated Pac-12 champs. He certainly has the resume to back up his coaching skills and aim for the same success during his debut Alabama campaign this year.
