Although the Oregon Ducks lost Jackson Cantwell to Miami, Dan Lanning received the commitment of four-star prospect Messiah Hampton on Friday. He is the program's first receiver in the Class of 2026. Hampton is a product of James Monroe High School, and the No. 1 rank prospect in New York, registering 1,266 yards in his high school career.
Fellow Ducks wide receiver Dakorien Moore dropped a fiery reaction to Hampton's recruitment post on his Instagram story. Moore is a freshman with the Ducks, who will make his debut in August.
"Leh do it young bull," Moore wrote.

.
Hampton credited his decision to the recruiting efforts of Oregon wide receivers coach Ross Douglas, who is a former coach at Syracuse. Before his commitment, he reportedly juggled between Ohio State, Michigan and Georgia, but his visits to Miami, Syracuse and Oregon, were noteworthy.
"Coach Douglas, he came from Syracuse, we built a great bond," Hampton said on Friday, via On3. "He poured into my development."
The Ducks' Class of 2026 commits include Tradarian Ball, Tony Cumberland and others. Additionally, 247Sports' Tom Loy predicted Hampton's commitment to Oregon.
"My prediction at this point is the Oregon Ducks,” Loy said on Thursday. “I think they can get that one done and I expect them to be the pick on Friday.”
DaKorien Moore on figuring out the distinction between high school career and NFL path
In an interview series with Ryan Clark's "Pivot Podcast," Dakorien Moore opened up about his football journey from high school to college.
"I would just say I've been getting humbled seeing NFL players and college players doing it on another level higher than I do," Moore said in April. "I haven't experienced a lot, you know. I haven't really touched a lot of success. I only did so much in high school. You know high school only gets you so far.”
Aside from football, Moore is also an elite track and field athlete who ran the 100-meter dash in 10.4 seconds.
