Caleb Williams is widely expected to be the first-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The former USC quarterback is seen as a rare talent in the draft and is anticipated to make notable impact in the NFL over the next couple of years with the Chicago Bears, which hold the first pick.

CBS college football and NFL analyst Aaron Taylor compared the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner with two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. Analyzing Caleb Williams ahead of the draft, Taylor believes he possesses some attributes of Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.

“What really sets him apart is his ability to escape the pocket, navigate within the pocket and make off-platform or off-schedule throws. He is kind of part Aaron Rodgers, part Patrick Mahomes.”

“I'm not saying that that's who he's forecasted to be but if he can take advantage of that rare skill set of being able to throw the football and find open receivers while making good decisions. I think he's going to be everything that Chicago wants.”

Caleb Williams’ unimpressive pre-daft outing

Caleb Williams is considered a near certainty to be selected with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft by the Chicago Bears. The franchise has traded its starting quarterback of last season Justin Fields, showcasing its intent to move on to a new era with Williams.

However, the former USC quarterback hasn't had an outstanding spring. He didn't take part in the NFL Combine and wasn't overly impressive at the Trojans’ Pro Day.

Nonetheless, evaluators have suggested that the assurance of his being chosen first led to an unimpressive pre-draft process.

"I don't think he's had a great spring," An AFC executive said. "He's still going first.
"That's pretty much a done deal. But while he was a no-brainer three months ago, there's at least a conversation now. Even still, I think he's a smart kid, a good kid. He just knows where he's going."

Can Caleb Williams lead the Bears to the Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl is the pinnacle in the NFL. By drafting Caleb Williams, the Bears believe he's the quarterback to lead them to a Super Bowl. That showcases the level of expectations already on him.

Without a doubt, Williams has all that it takes to lead a team to the Super Bowl. The quarterback will look to land the Bears their first Lombardi Trophy since 1986, but the Bears need to get players that complement Williams' skillset.
