Julian Sayin is getting ready for his freshman year with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the upcoming 2024 season. The five-star recruit is bound to give head coach Ryan Day a severe headache when naming his starting signal caller. But there is still time till the season kicks off. For now, Sayin is taking full advantage of the offseason with his girlfriend, Gabrielle Fowler

Fowler took to Instagram to share a snap of a breathtaking view with the quarterback as the couple enjoyed a hearty vacation. They went hiking in California to witness the calm La Jolla waters.

The picture-in-picture snap showed the beach along the Torrey Pines Hiking Trails, a breathtaking view for all the onlookers. It also showed Sayin looking into the horizon while taking in the view that nature has to offer.

Fowler recently shared a ‘miss you’ message for him on Instagram. This was as the Buckeyes star was preparing for integration with the new team.

Sayin has a long way to go to get the starting job with Ryan Day’s side, with Will Howard, Devin Brown, Lincoln Kienholz and Air Noland all fighting for that elusive QB1 spot.

Why did Julian Sayin leave Alabama for Ohio State?

Julian Sayin might now be fighting for the Buckeyes QB1 spot, but that wasn't the case originally. He initially committed to playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide and trying to get a spot there.

He even signed a letter of intent to that effect. But he then decided to leave the program to join the Buckeyes. And it had everything to do with Nick Saban.

Coach Saban announced his decision to retire from coaching in Tuscaloosa in early January. That resulted in many recruits flipping sides, including Sayin. His high school coach revealed that it was the Saban factor that had made him sign for Alabama.

Ryan Day's Ohio State was the second option for the No. 1 QB of the 2024 recruitment class. It remains to be seen if he can fulfill his potential with the Buckeyes in the Big 10.
