Colorado coach Deion Sanders has been dealing with an "unspecified health issue," which is why he has been away from the team during the offseason training, according to reports from USAToday. According to Sanders' eldest son, Deion Jr., Coach Prime is "feeling well,” but it’s unclear when he will return for summer camps.

CU hired Sanders in December 2022. In his first year, he led the Buffs to a 4-8 record, failing to qualify for a bowl game.

However, Sanders' Colorado showed vast improvements in the 2024 season, posting a 9-4 record. He transformed the Buffs into one of the best teams in the country, which landed him a blockbuster contract extension.
