"Ridiculous", "Having a career game": Texas world bows down to Jaydon Blue as Longhorns re-establish lead against Clemson

The number five-seeded Texas Longhorns faced the number 12-seeded Clemson Tigers in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

For most of the game, the Longhorns were in the lead. That was until the beginning of the fourth quarter, when Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik threw a touchdown pass to make it a one possession lead.

However, this did not last long, as in response to Clemson's touchdown, Longhorns running back Jaydon Blue found the endzone for a 77-yard rushing touchdown

Jaydon Blue's strong season with the Longhorns

Jaydon Blue has had a very strong season for the Longhorns. He came into it not expecting to have a big role, as CJ Baxter was the main Longhorns' running back. But Baxter has missed the season with an injury, and Blue has been a worthy replacement.

Alongside Quintrevion Wiser, these two players have dominated the Longhorns run game. This season, Blue has 564 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Coming into this week's game against the Clemson Tigers, Blue was expected to contribute (mostly due to the lack of mobility and general struggles from quarterback Quinn Ewers), but it was not expected to be a game-winning one.

This came partly due to the Tigers struggling to stop the run game, something that they have struggled to do all season. However, Blue's contribution was made more important due to Wisner leaving the game early with an injury.
