"Shedeur been hit his whole life man": Coach Prime unaffected by son getting bulldozed in Kansas game

Coach Prime was impressed by his son, Shedeur Sanders, who proved his grit in Colorado’s 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks. The Colorado QB took a brutal hit in the second quarter. As Shedeur attempted to release a pass, Jayhawks linebacker Dean Miller struck him on the knee.

Although the Colorado quarterback got back up and continued the game, the Colorado HC didn’t seem too worried about the incident after the game.

“He’s good. Shedeur been hit his whole life, man. He’s tough, one of the toughest young football players I’ve ever seen,” Coach Prime said.

Shedeur, one of the most-sacked quarterbacks in college football last season, has proven his ability to bounce back repeatedly.

Colorado’s loss to Kansas stings, especially with the Buffaloes now being disadvantaged in the Big 12 standings. As Coach Prime said, “We controlled our own destiny. And we fumbled it.” With BYU and Arizona State holding key tiebreakers, the Buffs’ playoff dreams hang by a thread.

Coach Prime acknowledges loss against Kansas Jayhawks

Sanders’ Colorado has finally lost a game after riding the winning horse for over a month. Their hopes for a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff berth took a serious hit, and Coach Prime knows that.

Running back Devin Neal was the star of the game. He managed 287 yards and four touchdowns to power the Jayhawks’ run-heavy attack. Kansas (5-6, 4-4, Big 12) outrushed Colorado 331-42 and never punted or turned the ball over at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

"We could not stop the bleeding. We tried consistently, but we could not stop the bleeding. That's hats off to them. They were physical. They out-physicaled us. They outplayed us. They wanted it a lot more than we did," Sanders said.

Coach Prime, whose Buffs now have an 8-3 record, said, “We started smelling ourselves a little bit. That's what I just told our team. We got intoxicated with the success. We got intoxicated with the multitude of articles and the assumption that we're this and the assumption that we're that. And we did not play CU football.”

The Buffs will face Oklahoma State in their last game of the season. Sanders has vowed a stronger finish. “We’ll fix it,” Sanders declared. "This is about football, not turkey and dumplings.”
