Mel Kiper Jr. believes Shedeur Sanders could be QB1 in 2025

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. believes Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has the potential to be the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Kiper cited the resilience behind a weak offensive line that has seen him suffer 15 sacks this season as a key factor

"Shedeur Sanders has had to survive," Kiper said. "I don't know any other quarterback that could, and still be out there... to keep getting back up and competing. I'm ready to put Shedeur at QB1, I really am, just because of that reason," he added.

In four games, Shedeur Sanders has completed 67.9 percent of his passes, amassing 1,340 yards and 11 touchdowns. His consistency, especially in high-pressure situations, has left a strong impression on Mel Kiper, who praised his ability to lead his team through.

"They can't block up front and give him enough to not get hit,” Kiper said. “I don't care about sacks, how many times does he get hit? How many times is he under duress? And I see him competing and making plays.”

Travis Hunter ends rift with Richard Sherman

A rift broke out between Travis Hunter and Richard Sherman recently after the former NFL star shared his opinion on the Colorado standout's ability to play as a two-way athlete in the NFL. Deion Sanders waded into the situation and placed the two on call, where Sherman apologized.

“He didn’t mean for it to go out that way, that type of no-negative energy.,” Sanders said. “He told me that he watched me a lot. I grew up watching them. The 49ers were my favorite team when I was growing up so, that was low-key our rival, the Seahawks, him playing DB.

“I modeled my game after them when I was younger. So yeah, he was just telling me he apologizes. I accept the apology. It just kind of hurt me because I look up to him, so that’s pretty much what it was.”

Travis Hunter has been successful as a two-way player in college football and wants to continue with that in the NFL. However, with the demanding nature of the pro league, there are rising concerns about his ability.
