Mike Norvell's Florida State suffered a setback on Monday after Jaylen Scott, a Class of 2027 safety, flipped his commitment to Hugh Freeze's Auburn. Scott initially pledged his commitment to the Seminoles in January; however, the four-star prospect will join the Tigers in less than two years.
When fans on social media caught wind of Scott's decision, they felt he did not make the right choice.

"He just made a terrible mistake," one fan tweeted.
"Bad decision young man," another fan wrote.
"Bet it won’t be his last 'commitment,'" a fan commented.
Some mocked FSU after Scott ditched the program.
"Fsu in shambles," one fan said.
"Nobody wants to go that s**t hole. FSU football is trash," a fan tweeted.
"Look at this chump change program. Guy wanted to be apart of a real program on the up," another fan wrote.
Scott will enter his junior year at Williamson High School in Mobile, Alabama. In his sophomore campaign, the safety recorded 107 total tackles (41 solo tackles), two tackles for loss, four interceptions (one interception touchdown), 12 passes defended and one fumble recovery.
Norvell's Seminoles had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, but Scott's flip to Auburn dropped them to No. 2, according to 247Sports.
Mike Norvell had the worst record of his college football career at FSU in 2024 season

Mike Norvell's Florida State finished with a 2-10 record in the 2024 season, including 1-7 in ACC play. It was the coach's worst record with the program since the Seminoles hired him in 2020, and the worst throughout his career.
It was a stark contrast to FSU's 2023 season, when he led the team to a 13-1 (8-0) record.
Norvell has compiled a 33-27 (20-20) record across five seasons with the Seminoles. However, after a disastrous 2024 season, the coach will need to turn things around for the program this year.
