The LSU Tigers suffered their worst loss in three seasons under head coach Brian Kelly in Week 11, falling 42-13 to the Alabama Crimson Tide. A clip from two years ago recently emerged and went viral following the blowout loss, which came in front of a packed Tiger Stadium. In the video, Kelly claims:"October is for pretenders. November is for contenders!"Ryan C. Fowler of Tide 100.9 shared the clip, captioning it:"Brian Kelly explains the difference between Alabama and LSU."Fans reacted to the clip by trolling the Tigers head coach. @lochinvar451 sarcastically claimed the clip aged well:"That aged well."@tru_maroon noted that LSU is winless in November this season, although they've played just one game:"Makes sense. They haven’t won a game in November."@BammerhamRebel added that Kelly knows what his program is:"Well, at least he knows what he is."@RealBruceLeeJ joked that the Tigers are contenders for the Birmingham Bowl:"LSU can contend for the Birmingham Bowl."@jonvines called out Kelly for leaving their starters in:"Pretenders leave their starters in down nearly 40 with a minute to go against back-ups to hopefully score a touchdown. 🤡"@Chad_Swenson64 jokingly applauded the Tigers for their sportsmanship:"That was really kind of Brian Kelly to acknowledge us like that. It really made me feel good that the LSU players were cheering for us as well. Now that’s true sportsmanship. lol"Brian Kelly speaks on LSU Tigers programBrian Kelly spoke to the media on Monday, discussing the state of the program. During his weekly press conference, the LSU Tigers head coach claimed:"Did we not win 14 consecutive games at night? From that perspective, the odds are I feel pretty confident we know what we are doing. Am I happy about what happened? No. Are our players? No. When it comes to an overall look at the program … we’ve won 10 out of our past 13 games."He added:"I am not in a position to worry about what people are saying about the overall health of the program. We have one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Those things are only going to continue to get better. A championship program is what we are going to have here. There are going to be some stumbles along the way, but we will get back up and we are going to keep building our program where it needs to be. And that’s a championship program." [h/t On3 Sports]Kelly added that the Tigers will look to finish the season strong as they have an opportunity for a 10-win season. He noted that they need to be more consistent in all three facets of the game. While they are not mathematically eliminated from the College Football Playoff, their +700 odds are tied for 18th in the nation.
