Coach Prime's first season as Colorado coach started with a bang. He inherited a 1-11 team in Boulder, and had to play the national championship runner-up TCU on the road in his first game. The rebuilt Buffaloes roster went on to put out a historic performance in Fort Worth.

In what was an electrifying and exciting game at the Amon G. Carter Stadium in September 2023, Colorado defeated TCU 45-42. This was achieved with a strong performance from Deion Sanders' sons, Shilo and Shedeur, on both sides of the ball, marking a brilliant start to life in Boulder.

Following the game, Coach Prime’s ex-wife Pilar Sanders took to Instagram to praise her two sons, who had an outstanding debut for the Buffaloes.

How have Coach Prime’s sons fared in college football at Colorado since their debuts?

Shedeur and Shilo Sanders announced themselves to the college football world with their performance against TCU. The two had spent the previous two years at Jackson State under Coach Prime. However, there was less spotlight on them playing for the HBCU program.

Here's a look at how their careers went at Colorado under the guidance of Coach Prime:

Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders has been a fantastic quarterback right from Jackson State. However, the Football Bowl Subdivision was expected to be a more difficult stage for him but he took on the challenge. He began performing dominant right from the game against the Horned Frogs.

Despite the struggles of the Buffaloes in the 2023 season, Shedeur threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns. He entered the 2024 season as arguably the best quarterback in college football, and has recorded 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns at the end of the regular season.

Shilo Sanders

Shilo Sanders’ move to Colorado alongside Coach Prime was a return to the FBS after previously playing at South Carolina. This aided his fast adaptation at Boulder, becoming a force on Colorado's defense.

Shilo led Colorado in tackles in his first season at the program with 70, adding four forced fumbles, three passes defended and one interception. He was once again brilliant for the Buffs in 2024 with 59 tackles, two tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one pass defended.
