Arch Manning fans aren’t thrilled with Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian’s latest decision. After stepping up in Quinn Ewers' absence, Manning dazzled with his poise and skill, impressing the CFB landscape.
While the hype surrounding the freshman is high, Sarkisian confirmed that Ewers is back as the starter for the Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry clash with No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners ( 4-1, 1-1, SEC). The announcement made Manning fans take to social media to express their frustration. One fan posted,
"Keep Arch in, this guy [Ewers] stinks."
"👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿 let my Guy Arch cook lol," said another.
"How many INTs or Fumbles will Tex allow before Manning is the okay caller?" tweeted one fan.
Another Arch Manning fan wrote: "Wanted Arch Manning in the rest of the season. I speak for all Longhorns fans."
"No. Keep Arch Manning," called another.
One fan tweeted: "Shoulda went to the nfl it’s arch manning time to shine"
Ewers, who missed two games due to an oblique strain, faces a high-stakes return. As ESPN’s Jordan Reid pointed out, Texas has two critical matchups coming up, including a showdown against the No.5 Georgia Bulldogs (4-1, 2-1, SEC).
The hype for the 19-year-old Manning is high. Fans are eager to see more of the rising star who has made quite an impression, recording 901 yards and nine touchdowns so far.

CFB Insider weighs in on Arch Manning - Quinn Ewers debate
The debate between Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers continues to stir conversation in the college football landscape, but former quarterback Joel Klatt believes the choice is clear. On “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” Klatt explained why Texas is leaning on Ewers for their game against Oklahoma.
“Texas is a much better team than Oklahoma, and they’re going to get [Quinn] Ewers back, they can run the football, they’ve got the best offensive line in football, they’re veteran, they’re old. The last couple of years, you know what’s rewarding in college football more than anything? Veteran talent.” [11:50]
On the other hand, the Texas coach said that the freshman still has some growing to do.
“I did want to make sure we were getting him completions,” Sarkisian said.
Manning, however, has embraced his backup role, learning from Ewers while preparing for his future shot at leading Texas.
