Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes secured a 41-27 victory over Texas Tech in Week 11 of the 2024 season on Saturday. A few hours after the game, video footage on social media showed an agitated Coach Prime complaining to the referees about the Red Raiders fans throwing beer bottles and cans onto the field.

The referees had a rather blunt response to Sanders' complaint, pointing out that his Buffaloes players were "blowing kisses" after scoring touchdowns.

In his press conference after the game, Sanders addressed the heated incident between his players and the Texas Tech fans, who were hurling tortillas, water bottles, and even beer bottles on the Jones AT&T Stadium field.

"[Tortillas are] soft, not hard," Sanders said. "But when they start throwing water bottles and those other objects, that's when you've got to alarm the officials and say, 'OK, now, tortillas are one thing, but water bottles [are] another thing that get a little crazy. But I'm thankful, I think Joey grabbed the microphone."

During the fourth quarter, Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire also pleaded with the home supporters not to throw tortillas.

"Stop throwing stuff on the field," McGuire said over the loudspeakers. "Students, stop throwing stuff on the field! Please!"

At one point in the game, two-way Colorado star Travis Hunter grabbed a tortilla thrown on the field and stuffed it inside his pants before a snap.
