Oregon football showcases Bo Nix and Troy Franklin college play

The Denver Broncos selected Bo Nix, the highly rated quarterback from Oregon, in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft with the 12th overall pick. The franchise went one better by trading up to select NiX teammates at Oregon, wide receiver Troy Franklin, in the fourth round.

It was a strategic move by the Broncos, as they traded their slots with Seattle to acquire Franklin with the 102nd pick. They traded their 121st,136th and 207th picks, with Seattle to receive the 102nd and 235th picks. They now have two major pieces of Oregon's 2023 explosive offense.

Following the selection of the two, Oregon posted some highlights of the two in action for the Ducks. It showcased how effective the two have been and what they will bring to the NFL team. Take a look at the video below.

Bo Nix and Troy Franklin’s superb chemistry

Bo Nix and Troy Franklin posted impressive numbers during their tenure in college football with the Ducks.

They also formed a very formidable partnership with superb chemistry, as Nix often slung the ball with pinpoint accuracy to Franklin as he sprinted away from defenses.

The Oregon Ducks finished with a 12-2 record in 2023, and this incredible duo played a crucial role in that. Franklin caught 81 passes and had a team-high 1,383 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, while Nix threw for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns.

To further showcase the insane chemistry between the two, Franklin was responsible for 28 percent of Bo Nix's passing yardage and 31 percent of his passing touchdowns.

Will Bo Nix and Troy Franklin bring the Oregon connection to the Broncos?

This isn't the first time an NFL team has drafted a quarterback and a receiver from the same college team to good effect, with Joe Burrow and Jamarr Chase being a perfect example.

However, while nothing is set in stone, it's going to be very beneficial to the Broncos if they tap into an already-formed chemistry between Nix and Franklin.

It takes weeks, and sometimes months, to build a connection between players. Nonetheless, there's an existing one between Nix and Franklin, which could be highly beneficial.

The Broncos have taken the first bold step in reuniting them on the same roster. What is next is for the team to provide a platform for the two stars to show what they can do.

Under the right circumstances and system, there's nothing to suggest that the connection formed in Oregon by the two prospects won’t prosper in Denver.
