Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck has had a mixed season. A times, he has looked like one of the best quarterbacks in college football. In other weeks, he has struggled with interceptions.

Beck started the season as one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy. However, in the lastest odds provided by Fanduel, Beck is +25000 to win the award, far behind favorite Travis Hunter.

College football fans reacted to Beck's standing for the Heisman Trophy on social media, mainly with questions as to why Beck is ahead of other quarterbacks such as the Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders.

One fan thinks if Beck did not play in the SEC, he would be seen as a better player.

"Carson Beck should just cus his stats would be unreal if he played in any of these other cupcake conferences" said this fan

Why Carson Beck will not win the Heisman Trophy this season

Beck's Georgia Bulldogs were the favorites to win their third national championship in four years, making the quarterback a potential Heisman contender. The Bulldogs have made it to the SEC championship, so their path to the national title is still on the cards.

Beck has thrown for 3,132 yards and 23 touchdowns but has also thrown 12 interceptions. Six of these have come in important games against the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns.

Defeating tough opponents of the biggest stage is something a Heisman Trophy-worthy quarterback should be able to do. While Beck has shown he can do this, he has not been dominant in doing so. This inconsistent form will prevent him from winning the Heisman and could put the Bulldogs' pursuit of a national championship at risk.
