On Tuesday, ESPN's College GameDay announced that Lee Corso will make his final appearance on the panel in Week 1 of the 2025 college football season for Texas vs. Ohio State. The 89-year-old will retire from his broadcasting duties in Columbus, Ohio, the same place where he made his debut on the show on Oct. 5, 1996.
However, fans on social media were left disappointed since Corso will be serving as an analyst for the final time on College GameDay.

"Lmao. What a f***ing joke," one tweeted.
"It’s just not gonna be the same without him," another added.
"This one hurts," a third commented.
Others were left annoyed that the GameDay crew would be covering the Texas vs. Ohio State game in Week 1 of next season.
"Yeah yall fumbled on this one. This is why the show has fell off. 2 elite QBs playing in Clemson and yall went and chose arch manning and Julian Sayin," one added.
"Should have been Liberty. SMH," a user tweeted.
"Criminal you all aren’t going to Tallahassee. Boooo," another wrote.
The Texas vs. Ohio State clash will be a rematch of last season's College Football Playoff semifinal. However, both teams will have new starting quarterbacks for the 2025 season.
Lee Corso will end 38 years on ESPN's College GameDay in Week 1 of 2025 season

Lee Corso joined ESPN's College GameDay in 1987 as a contributor. He later became a full-time analyst on the show in 1989.
Corso will leave College GameDay after 38 years on the program. He had announced his retirement from broadcasting in April.
“My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and 'College GameDay' for nearly 40 years,” Corso said in a statement. “I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.”
Corso will work his final College GameDay show on Aug. 30. It will be interesting to see if he picks Texas or Ohio State as his last pick on the program.
