KJ Bolden is a five-star ranked safety from Buford, Georgia. According to 247sports.com, Bolden is the best safety in the 2024 class.
He was a highly sought-after player who would benefit any team he decided to join, but which team will he be playing for in the 2024 season?
What team does KJ Bolden play for?

KJ Bolden will be playing for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2024. Bolden committed to the Bulldogs in December, but this was not the first team he had pledged to join.
Bolden had originally committed to play for the Florida State Seminoles but after numerous visits to Kirby Smart’s program, he decided to flip on National Signing Day to Georgia.
On his commitment to the Bulldogs, Bolden told On3.com:
“When they (Georgia) stayed in contact, I just told Coach I want to play for the best and practice with the best. I want to be one of the best players in the nation at one of the best programs in the nation.”
His wish to play for one of the best programs in the nation has come true. This year, the Bulldogs are seen as the favorite to win the national championship, and Bolden will be surrounded by some of the best players in the county, which will only help him develop into a stronger player.
What has Kirby Smart said about KJ Bolden?
Kirby Smart spoke about the prestigious recruit during SEC Media Days in July. Smart compared Bolden to Malaki Starks, the current starting safety in the Bulldogs' lineup.
Smart told the media:
"He's (KJ Bolden) athletic, he's intelligent, he comes from a really good high school program. He got 15 practices in the spring and he approaches every practice like a veteran. Like where he is right now is ahead of probably where Malaki (Starks) was at that time and Malaki was able to play as a freshman. I'm excited about what KJ is gonna do."
Could KJ Bolden play this season?
There is a possibility that Bolden will play this season. According to College Football Network, Bolden is the second string free safety in the Bulldogs defense, behind Dan Jackson.
Jackson will be a senior this year, and this should be his final season in college football. Jackson, a walk-on player, has been somewhat successful, especially in his freshman year where he recorded 32 tackles.
Adding Bolden to the lineup should be an improvement over Jackson, and while Bolden likely becomes the starter in 2025, there is a possibility that he could play this season.
