Deiondra Sanders was the only child of Deion Sanders who was not based in Boulder during the 2023 college football season. However, she made a couple of visits for Colorado’s home games at Folsom Field.
One of her visits was for the Buffaloes’ Week 5 game against USC. This followed the matchup against Oregon in Week 4, when she held an open watch party in Atlanta, showcasing her support for Coach Prime despite being miles away.
Deiondra Sanders met her brother, Shilo Sanders, at the Colorado facility days before the Week 5 game. After their exchange of pleasantries, she accused the defensive back of not picking up her calls while she tried to check up on him.
“How are you? I was so mad at you, I kept calling to check up and you didn’t get me back,” Deiondra said.
“I was sleeping,” Shilo said.
“For four days?” Deiondra asked
“It wasn't four days,” Shilo answered.
“I called you every day, and I texted you but you never responded,” Deiondra said.
“What phone did you call?” Shilo asked.
“I hit up even both of them like one day,” Deiondra said
“Why didn’t you call on FaceTime,” Shilo asked.
“I think I did try to do that one,” Deiondra said.
Deiondra Sanders no more the only Coach Prime's child based outside Boulder in 2024
While Deiondra Sanders was the only one among Deion Sanders’ five children not based in Boulder in 2023, that’s not the case anymore. She's now been joined by Shelomi Sanders, who transferred away from Colorado earlier this year and moved to Alabama A&M.
Shelomi moved to Boulder in 2023 alongside her father and brothers. However, she didn't have it all good in the Colorado women's basketball program, prompting her decision to exit.
“I don’t want to say anything too bad,” Shelomi said on a livestream on Aug. 16. “It just wasn’t good energy. It wasn’t good vibes. There wasn’t enough being poured into me as a player and young lady. If I didn’t leave when I did, I promise you I would’ve quit.”
Deiondra Sanders will see more of her siblings move outside Boulder in 2025. With Shelomi remaining with the Bulldogs, Shedeur and Shilo will be done with college football after two years at Colorado. Deion Jr. might be the only one remaining with Deion Sanders in Boulder.
This might see Coach Prime’s kids scattered across the country like never before and it will mark a new stage of parenthood for the Colorado coach.
