Fox Sports’ “Big Noon Kickoff” pregame show will be heading to Ann Arbor for this weekend's highly anticipated Texas versus Michigan showdown. The Wolverines and Longhorns clash in a game that could have a significant postseason impact despite the switch to a 12-team playoff.
A special guest will be making an appearance on set in Ann Arbor ahead of the Week 2 matchup. Multiple award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, a die-hard Longhorns fan, is slated to join the broadcast crew on the pregame show, Fox Sports announced on Instagram on Wednesday.

McConaughey’s presence should add a heightened level of excitement to an already monumental clash between two powerhouse programs. However, a host of fans are not impressed with the choice of having him as the special guest on the show for the top-10 matchup.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions from fans online:

Steve Sarkisian worried about Michigan's defense
Michigan had the best defense in college football in the 2023 season, leading it to the national title. Ahead of the game on Saturday, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian expects Michigan's defense to showcase a new approach, one that could significantly alter the dynamics of the game.
Sarkisian is well aware that the Wolverines will be focused on generating pressure in the game. He understands that Michigan will aim to disrupt Texas’ offensive rhythm with aggressive defensive schemes, making the challenge even more formidable for the Longhorns:
“I think naturally, Wink’s trademark and the wrinkle that you see in it is the pressure packages,” Sarkisian said at the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday.
“He’s — and he’ll be the first one to tell you. I worked with Wink, I know, he’ll be the first one to tell you: He’s going to pressure you. He likes to cut it up and send DBs and send linebackers and attack protections and things of that nature, so he’s not afraid to do it," he added.
Sherrone Moore says preparation for Texas won’t be different
Playing an offensively brilliant team like Texas will undoubtedly be a huge challenge for Michigan despite its defense. Nonetheless, coach Sherrone Moore won't be altering anything in preparation for the Longhorns (via Sports Illustrated):
"For us, it's just about the preparation this week, Moore said. "We start today, and we get the players in today. It's about doing what we can to go win every day. The preparation's not any different.
"You're going to be a different team in Week 2 than you are in Week 3. You're going to be a different team in Week 1 than you are in Week 2. So for us, it's just about our mindset of it's another big game and it's a big game because we're in it," he added.
Michigan faces the challenge of defending the national championship title won under Jim Harbaugh last season. The Wolverines’ performance in a top game like this will be a testament to their postseason credentials.
