Deion Sanders has delivered on the hype this time around. Last season brought hype not seen around the campus halls at Boulder, Colorado, only for it to fall flat with a disappointing 4-8 record.

Preseason previews were not too kind to them either, with many pundits saying that a 7-5 record would be considered a successful season. Vegas also gave them a 5.5 over/under win total, suggesting little faith in this version of the Buffaloes and Deion's coaching ability. However, Coach Prime came in and made the pundits look silly by going 9-3, good for 4th in the Big 12. While they fell short of a playoff berth, they may still secure a bowl game to cap off the season.

Deion took to Instagram to express his gratitude and appreciation for his team, especially his seniors who may be headed to the pros next year. The 57-year-old wrote:

"I’m so darn proud of each and every one of these young men. To my seniors, we wouldn’t be where we are without you and your families. I sure wouldn’t be where I am without y’all. Believe that! We love y’all and appreciate y’all 2 Life. @cubuffsfootball #CoachPrime."

Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and LaJohntay Wester lead the charge

Leading Deion's turnaround was his quarterback and son Shedeur, who has impressed NFL scouts with his play. Shedeur threw for 3926 yards and 35 touchdowns while only having eight interceptions.

His performance against Oklahoma State was nothing short of spectacular. Completing 34 of 41 passes for 438 yards and 5 touchdowns, he posted a staggering QB rating of 208. While he may not be the top quarterback prospect for next year's draft, with multiple teams projected to select a quarterback in the top 10, his impressive play could elevate his draft stock and land him an early pick.

Travis Hunter was also a force for Coach Prime this season. As a wide receiver, he set career highs with 92 receptions, 1,152 yards, and 14 touchdowns. He also contributed on defense, intercepting four passes as a cornerback.

Somewhat overshadowed, No. 2 receiver LaJohntay Wester also had a solid season, catching 70 passes for 880 yards and ten touchdowns. He shined in the game against Oklahoma State, hauling in 11 receptions for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns. This performance could elevate him to a mid-round NFL Draft pick, making him an attractive option for teams seeking wide receiver help.
