The Texas Longhorns have been almost flawless in the 2024 college football season. They go into Week 14 with just one loss on their record, and it was against a super-stacked Georgia Bulldogs team coached by Kirby Smart.
Ahead of the Lone Star Showdown, let's take a look at the starting quarterback for the Longhorns and the potential depth chart.
Texas' starting QB against the Texas A&M Aggies in Week 14
Quinn Ewers is the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, and he has started every game in which he was fully fit. In nine games, Ewers has racked up 2,089 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. The redshirt junior quarterback also added a single rushing touchdown for good measure, which came against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Ewers is in his third season, joining the team after an uneventful time with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ewers goes into Week 14 aiming for a statement win over the Aggies, which will likely send the Longhorns to the SEC Championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Texas Longhorns QB depth chart
The Longhorns have a roster stacked with elite quarterbacks. Arch Manning is the team's primary backup behind Ewers, and he has been impressive in his few appearances this season.
Manning has racked up 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions in eight games (two starts). The redshirt freshman is a dual-threat QB and poses a unique threat when compared to incumbent starter Ewers. Manning will be ready to step up if needed.
The other quarterback on the Longhorns' depth chart is Trey Owens who is a freshman. The former two-time all-district honoree will likely watch from the sidelines, as it'll take a couple of unforeseen scenarios to see him feature against the Aggies or in the playoffs.
